About the role
Supervises the accuracy of the student information systems process and improve the efficiency and accuracy of data submissions.
Responsibilities
- Maintains district / campus enrollment attendance reports.
- Provides training for attendance clerks and other campus SIS data entry personnel.
- Communicates with campuses on timing of and inputting data for all special populations.
- Communicates with department heads on PEIMS accuracy and validation of data.
- Communicates with the Child Nutrition department on Free and Reduced data.
- Verifies accuracy of all PEIMS data with the appropriate department personnel.
- Organizes reports with the appropriate personnel departments and campuses.
- Submits all required PEIMS data submissions.
- Attends training to keep up with the PEIMS updates, PEIMS data standards, and student attendance accounting.
- Develops a plan to reduce potential desktop audit errors.
- Supports procedures / policies for grade reporting using District guidelines.
- Assists with the creation of master schedules, transcripts and report cards as needed.
- Supports the student registration process.
- Responsible for properly maintaining district records, adhering to all policies set forth by the district for records maintenance and learning the records retention schedule for department records.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises and evaluates the performance of designated employees.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field is preferred.
Experience / Other Requirements
- Five years of experience in a school district administrative support position entering data or specific experience with PEIMS data collection is required.
- Experience with Skyward is preferred.
- Knowledge of Student Attendance Handbook.
Skills
- Ability to concentrate and communicate effectively (verbally and written).
- Knowledge of PID / TSDS submissions.
- Knowledge of TREX.
- Knowledge of Student Information Systems.
- Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records.
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing.
- Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills.
- Ability to meet established deadlines.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
